The Book of Isaiah (Hebrew: ספר ישעיהו, IPA: [sɛ.fɛr ]) is the first of the Latter Prophets in the Hebrew Bible and the first of the Major Prophets in the Christian Old Testament. It is identified by a superscription as the words of the 8th-century BCE prophet Isaiah ben Amoz, but there is extensive evidence that much of it was composed during the Babylonian. The Book of Ruth (abbreviated Rth) (Hebrew: מגילת רות ‎, Megilath Ruth, "the Scroll of Ruth", one of the Five Megillot) is included in the third division, or the Writings (), of the Hebrew Bible; in most Christian canons it is treated as a history book and placed between Judges and 1 Samuel.. The book tells of Ruth accepting the god of the Israelites as her god and the Israelite.
